Family Caregiving Series: Preparing Your Home for Safe Mobility
Family members who are under-recovery or in need of assistance in walking should live in a safe environment where moving around independently isn’t a big problem. To do this, the live in caregiver must remove slipping and tripping hazards. Together with the employer, she must also improve the lighting inside and outside the house. Lastly, don’t be quick to install handrails but hire a professional to do it! This prevents accidents in the future.
Remember, always acknowledge the need to adjust your home for your elderly loved ones. We wish your family a safe day ahead!
